We have an incredibly talented team here at Spy Valley Wines and it's about time we share a few of their secrets. Meet Belinda, the most patient of the spies who frequently bakes delicious cupcakes.
Name & Position
Belinda Cassidy, Bottling Line Supervisor at Spy Valley Wines, Marlborough.
Born, Bred & Schooled
Born in Christchurch but I moved to Blenheim at age six. Schooled at Marlborough Girls' College.
First wine industry job
No idea of the year but it was actually just a holiday/weekend job for a friend's mum who is a contractor.
First real full time job
I guess REAL would be in retail, I was 2IC for about three years.
Starting at Spy Valley of course!
Cat or Dog?
Two cats - Jet and Bear-face. I would love a dog but hubby says no.
Deserted Island wine & food
Always cheese and crackers with a really nice bottle of Sauvignon Blanc.
Who would you choose as a dinner companion - dead or alive
Ryan Reynolds to look at, Ellen Degeneres for the laughs and Martha Stewart so she can cook it!
My three beautiful children.
The New Zealand wine industry needs...
Lots of grapes! And more skilled workers.
If you weren't working in the wine industry, what would you be doing?
I would love to do catering or perhaps run my own cafe.
One thing about you that people might be interested to learn?
I was supposed to be in the navy. I joined as a medic and waited and waited, then just before deployment I failed a medical! It was over before it began.
If you had the day off tomorrow what would you like to do?
I would love to say something exciting but I would probably just do some housework and then go shopping and waste some money!
