Over the weekend we were lucky enough to host two captivating evenings of incredible cuisine, made from the freshest local produce by the talented Chef Shepherd Elliot, with the help of Shepherd Restaurant manager Chelsea, and local foodies Rory & Francis King of Feast Merchants.
One of the most innovative chefs in Australasia, Shepherd brought the dining experience of his renowned Wellington SHEPHERD Restaurant to Marlborough for two nights only to share some of his amazing dishes.
To top it off, Spy Valley Chief Winemaker Paul Bourgeois hand selected a delicious range of Spy wines to create the ultimate pairing with each of the 5 courses.
Match of the night was the final course (food porn at its finest) – caramelised kiwifruit, apple, Nutt Ranch hazelnut oat crunch, lime custard and kefir cream paired with Spy Valley Iced Sauvignon Blanc 2015, the perfect sweet vs. sour balance to set off the taste buds.
A big shout out to Shepherd and the team, Feast Merchants, Cloudy Bay Clams, Arbour Restaurant, Boomtown A.P.A and of course all of the wonderful guests who joined us to see what so many Wellingtonians are going crazy over.
If you missed out not to worry, we’re already planning the next one so watch this space for early bird tickets.
We’ll see you again soon Shepherd!
