Envoy Pinot Gris VT 2006 - Ant Mackenzie

Vendange Tardive is a fantastic wine style that produces some of the most exciting sweet wines in the world. Envoy late harvest selections will be released only when exceptional conditions prevail. Late picked Vendange Tardive or botrytised wine styles are crafted from Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer or Riesling grapes in years when environmental conditions are perfect.

Winemaking

Shrivelled grapes were hand selected from our Pinot Gris plantings. They were then whole bunch pressed and fermented in old barrels. The wine was aged for a further seven months on lees prior to bottling.

Pure Pinot Gris characters of honey and talc. An intriguing toffee/ hokey pokey ice cream note is also present.

Palate

Decadently rich and sweet. Fabulous fruit concentration matched with the unique ‘feel’ of Pinot Gris promises a taste experience out of the ordinary.
