Season Overview 2003

Blair Gibbs

2003 began cold. Several early season frost events in Marlborough tested the frost fighting abilities of many landowners. At Spy Valley the helicopters were used on two occasions and both times damage was averted. Flowering was cool and damp and as a result crop levels were low. When the weather finally warmed, the vines performed as expected. The low crop levels ripened fully and on time giving us high quality, concentrated fruit.
