We believe it's important to give back to the local community, almost as much as we believe in making award-winning wine. As a result we've created an ongoing sponsorship programme – we call them 'Spy Valley Secret Missions'.
Some of our missions include:
- Life Education Trust – we have offered financial support to the mobile education programme to allow New Zealand children to have positive health based education. You may even 'spy' our logo on one of the mobile caravans visiting a local school.
- Renwick Sports Centre – we have sponsored the development of the new sports centre in Renwick and we even have a Spy Valley bar inside for all the thirsty athletes.
- Life Flight Trust – we have been involved in fundraising events so that air rescue ambulance services can remain in the air not on the ground.
- Cameron Karwowski has worked in the Spy Valley vineyards during his summer holidays and is now riding his way to the top, cycling for New Zealand in the Junior World Championships in August this year. He is passionate about cycling and aims to be the next New Zealand Omnium rider. We'll do everything we can to help this dream happen. We will be tracking Cameron's progress on our Facebook site with YouTube video links.
- Special Olympics – donation to Dale Smit to help his dream of representing New Zealand in the Special Olympics.
- Epilepsy Foundation of NZ – helped to fund the 'film party' event
- Canterbury Medical Research Foundation – Magnum of wine donated to Wine & Art auction.
- Hohepa Canterbury 2009 Golf Classic – case of wine donated to help intellectually disabled youth.
- Pindrop Foundation Hearing House Wine Wall – case of wine donated to help deaf adults and youth to listen and speak through cochlear implants.
- Marlborough Racing Club – wine donated to support their annual two day race meeting
- Queen Charlotte College – donation of wine for the Netball and Rugby fundraising dinner.
- Paremata Plunket Creche – donation of wine to support 'what not to wear' fundraising night.
- Rotary Club of Dunedin – $300 raised from Spy Valley wine donation at the annual Wine Auction event.

Cycling sponsorship leads to gold in world champs!
Spy Valley Wines is helping to sponsor Cameron's cycling dream. His dream became a reality yesterday when he won gold. The New Zealand sprint team took out the gold medal in the ride-off against Germany in Moscow overnight. It is the first time that any New Zealand cyclist has won a gold medal of any colour in the individual or team sprint at any world event including senior and junior world championships or Olympics. "Sprinting has been the domain of the Europeans in the main over many years, so to go to the heart of European cycling in Russia and win a gold medal in the team sprint from New Zealand is a very significant result." Spy Valley Sponsors the Vino Gurus
Cure the Future Cell and Gene Trust raises money for advanced medical research into cell and gene therapies assisting in the treatment of cancer. On August 9th, 2009 Spy Valley helped sponsor the Vino Gurus in the Sydney City 2 Surf run.
